These terms govern your use of the LocalBite iPhone app ("the app"). By downloading and using LocalBite, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
LocalBite is a travel-companion app for the Costa del Sol region of Spain. It helps you discover restaurants and translate Spanish-language menus using AI. The app is free to download and use; there is no account to create.
You may use LocalBite for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not:
Dish translations, ingredient extractions, and tourist-trap scores are produced by Google Gemini based on the photo you submit. We do not edit or verify every output. The app displays the AI result as-is with best effort to filter obvious errors.
Treat AI output as a helpful starting point, not an authoritative statement. For allergies, dietary needs, or any case where correctness matters materially, always confirm with the restaurant directly.
The app, its name, logo, design, and the curated list of restaurants are owned by LocalBite. You get a personal, non-transferable license to use the app as shipped via the App Store.
Menu text extracted by the AI remains the property of the restaurant that produced the menu. LocalBite makes no claim over menu content.
Dishes and collections you save locally are yours.
The app is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind — express or implied — including but not limited to fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy of translations, completeness of restaurant listings, or uninterrupted availability. Restaurants open and close; menus change; the AI may misread. We do our best; we can't guarantee perfection.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LocalBite, its operators and contributors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from your use of the app — including but not limited to missed meals, bad restaurant experiences, allergic reactions, or hurt feelings about a tourist-trap verdict you disagree with.
Our total aggregate liability, if any, is limited to the amount you paid to download the app. Since the app is free, this amount is €0.
We may update the app's features, the list of restaurants, the AI model, or these terms at any time. Material changes to these terms will be posted at localbite.eu/terms.html with the updated date above, and surfaced in the app on first launch after the update.
If you continue using the app after an update to the terms, you accept the updated terms. If you disagree, uninstall the app.
These terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought before the courts of Málaga, Spain.
